My, what yellow eyes you have!
I, among many people, am a huge fan of the web comic XKCD. It’s wonderfully nerdy and quite hilarious. Although very tech heavy, it does discuss dinosaurs from time to time; specifically raptors. Now, in recent history, it has become fairly common place for people to create zombie escape plans. Randall Monroe (the creator), however, enjoys making velociraptor escape plans (Jurassic Park being the source material). Inspired by this, a group of fans have decided to designate Saturday, April 18th Velociraptor Awareness Day, the goal of which is to educate the masses on the dangers of velociraptor attacks. Info about the event can be found here. Some suggestions for celebrating the day are as follows:
- Mark areas that are potential velociraptor entry points
- Holding a candle light vigil for victims of velociraptor attacks
- Hold a viewing of Jurassic Park
- Have a bake sale with dinosaur themed baked goods
- Create your very own raptor cocktail and hit up the bar in style wearing some of these t-shirts
- Visit a museum that has a fine display on dinosaur bones
